Happy Chinese New Year. The visit to my grandmother’s house in the morning was kind of a routine that is done every year. Nevertheless, I still like Chinese New Year because there is a great time of fellowship with my relatives, lots of delicious food to eat, and red packets to collect (this is the best part). Other than that, I think this is a rather boring public holiday. More houses to visit tonight.

I see this day as a very boring one indeed. My cousin came to visit and have lunch with my family. I think a swim later would be good for me to kill time.

Three hours of lessons is all I have in school. The lessons are boring as usual but I still attend them regularly. I went to the gym with Jun Kai after lessons before heading home.

My body is aching all over.

After two hours of lessons in the morning, I went to the gym with Chor Boon. Next up was bowling. My bowling was horrid, so I shall not talk about it. Thereafter, I had lunch with my aunt, my mother, and sister at the restaurant just above the bowling alley. The food there was great and I ate a lot. Considering one bowl of noodles, three bowls of shark’s fin, three bowls of dessert, fish, vegetables, and yu sheng, it is much more than my usual lunch intake.
I met Daryl shortly after lunch for a run at Bedok Stadium. I tried out my 2.4km run and did not fair too well. We then did some speed training and lunges before heading home. More running for me tomorrow.
31.01.2009, Saturday
4km run in the morning with Daryl. Afternoon was spent at Chai Hwa’s house. He invited some of the youths over to his house to celebrate Chinese New Year. I left the party early to go home for a swim. In the evening, I had a family dinner at my uncle’s house.

Teaching people to sail is quite enjoyable. I brought the students out for an expedition to the beacon far out at sea and back. Although I did not get to sail at all, I am glad to be able to pass down my knowledge of sailing to them. I got home in the evening and went for a swim to end off the day.
