One assignment completed and many more to go. I had a boring day at school and skipped bowling training again because of the many assignments I need to do.
20.01.2009, Tuesday
I am finally 21. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. I celebrated this day with a dinner at Jacob’s Café with my family. Eating steak there was not a bad idea. Thereafter, we walked around Changi Village before heading home.
21.01.2009, Wednesday
Alexandra gave me my birthday wish this afternoon. It was a rather late wish as she planned to be the last one. Thanks so much, it is the thought that counts.
22.01.2009, Thursday
Nothing much happened. I spent about two hours in the gym doing my usual workout.
23.01.2009, Friday
Intensive training at the gym in the morning with Chor Boon before having lunch at food court six. Thereafter, we went to bowl. Sad to say, I had a poor performance in all the five games.
Daryl came to meet me shortly after I finished bowling. We went to eat and made our way to Bedok Stadium. The two hour bus ride covered 64 bus stops in total. I am never going to take a bus there from my school again. On a brighter side, we had a great 2.4km run and did a couple of lunges before heading home.
24.01.2009, Saturday
4.5km run in the morning with Chester and Daryl. Jeremy was supposed to come but he backed out at the last minute. Now, my whole body is aching after yesterday’s intensive training at the gym. The run made it a worst. I just hope that I can recover from my muscle aches soon.
25.01.2009, Sunday
Church service started early due to Chinese New Year Eve. The message was by a very entertaining speaker, Reverend Leslie Quahe. After service, I went to eat with some of the church people before heading home to do my assignments. Chinese New Year seems like it is going to be a boring public holiday.

21. The stage of entering adulthood and the end of my youth. Taking a big step into this new phase of life seems like a very big hurdle, but for me, I think it is a whole new start. There are many things that lie ahead of me, and there are many things left undone. I will take things one step at a time and see how it goes from here.
Sometimes, I question myself if I have achieved enough at this point of my life. Personally, I feel that I have underachieved in many areas. For that to change, I must really have the focus and discipline to work towards my goals and the things I want to achieve in life. In time to come, I hope to turn all my failures into success.
Looking back, I really miss my youth. The times spent with my friends, the laughter, the joy, and the pain. If I could turn back the clock, I would want to be 12 again, retake my PSLE, do well, and enter a prestigious school. No doubt, it is just my wishful thinking. Here I am, standing in the present. The past can only be regarded as memories. Bittersweet memories.

Kuishin-bo is great, with a wide variety of food ranging from doughnuts to sushi. Since it was a buffet dinner, I ate as much as my stomach could take. At the end of dinner, I was very bloated. I really hope that there will be a chance to go there again. The food is so delicious and unique that I am craving for it now even as I am typing this post.
13.01.2009, Tuesday
NAPFA test is in two days time and I am aiming for a gold award.
14.01.2009, Wednesday
I had only three hours of lessons. Thereafter, I went to Plaza Singapura with Jun Kai to buy clothes. I bought two long sleeve shirts costing $98.00, but I only paid $58.80 for it because there was a 40% discount. What a good buy. Jun Kai, thanks for accompanying me and helping me choose the clothes.
15.01.2009, Thursday
Project meeting was cancelled at the eleventh hour. I skipped my NAPFA test because of abdominal pains. Hopefully, I will be able to take my NAPFA test in a month or two.
16.01.2009, Friday
Back to One Degree 15 after four days of school. The time spent there seemed to pass very quickly and there was not much work to do either. I will have a very busy day tomorrow.
17.01.2009, Saturday
Staying on board a yacht is really cool. I did not get enough sleep because of the shift duties, but I am thankful for this opportunity to experience what it is like being on a yacht. The yacht has many rooms in it with a total of three decks. I took many photos which will be posted soon.
18.01.2009, Sunday
With only four hours of sleep, I got up at six to continue with my shift duties. Fortunately, there was nothing much to do. I sat down and relaxed during my shift duty while waiting for the race to start. The boats departed around eleven and there was a big crowd present to show their support. After our job was done, my friends and I packed our belongings and drove the power boats back to West Coast. There, we washed the power boats and scrubbed them clean before heading home. The algae and barnacles made the washing very difficult.

Lessons were amazingly boring. I skipped bowling training due to my assignments.
06.01.2009, Tuesday
One Degree 15 is so cool, especially the atmosphere, the place, and the luxurious boats berthed there. Located at one end of Sentosa Island, my sailing team and I had to meet at Poly Marina and travel all the way down to the place by power boat. The journey took about half an hour. I drove the power boat for awhile before letting my friend take over the wheel.
Being our first day of work, we were instructed to make anchors and lay them in the sea with the help of the staff there. The anchors were really heavy, weighing about 30kg each (excluding the weigh of the chains and shackles). We took the whole day to do just that before being allowed to go home. Jeremy gave eight of us a ride to the train station in his five seater car, where we had to squeeze just to get in. Thanks for the safe ride.
07.01.2009, Wednesday
Back to school after a day at One Degree 15. Lessons were as per normal and I finally completed my Plant Design assignment and handed it in. Tomorrow till Sunday will be spent at One Degree 15, which is the venue for the Volvo Ocean Race. The open house for the event will be held tomorrow, while the races will start on Saturday. I am going to be very busy then.
08.01.2009, Thursday
The time spent at One Degree 15 is rather carefree as there is nothing much to do. The work assigned is quite simple at the moment. However, there will be lots of work to be done during the weekends.
09.01.2009, Friday
The in-port race will start tomorrow and that means it will be a busy day for me and my friends. I hope that there will be a chance to watch the race for awhile if time permits.
10.01.2009, Saturday
I had a busy day at One Degree 15. There were many boats and yachts disembarking and embarking throughout the day. There might be a chance that I can go out and watch the in-port race tomorrow if there is enough manpower for the day. I really hope that the chance will turn into reality.
11.01.2009, Sunday
It seems that the job is kind of relaxed compared to yesterday. I did not have to disembark and embark many boats or yachts because there was little movement in the marina.
