November Day 09 Year 2008

02 November 2008, Sunday

Although traditional service in church is such a bore, I am still refreshed by the word of God.

03 November 2008, Monday

Bowling training has been postponed to Thursday again. It is a pity as I prefer training sessions to be held on Monday. At least training is not cancelled for this week.

04 November 2008, Tuesday

Approximately 8.6km. That is the distance I ran during sailing training. Running with Edwin was a great pleasure as he had good stamina for me to pace with. We chose to take the longer route which leads round the whole Dover estate and the schools around it, instead of just running round the school, which is only 3.5km a round. I felt really drained after the run, but I was glad I completed it without stopping at all.

05 November 2008, Wednesday

I decided to be lazy and skipped gym training because I was feeling a little tired. It is also daddy’s birthday and I want to be home early to celebrate his birthday. My sister and I shared the cost of the cake bought for him.

06 November 2008, Thursday

With my bowling scores improving a little, I am somewhat glad but still not satisfied with how my ball reacts to the lanes. More training is needed, I guess. The frustrating part about bowling is that it is not as easy as you think, but once you figure out certain parts of the game, you fall in love with it and it becomes your passion.

07 November 2008, Friday

Project meeting is cancelled but I still went to school to do my other projects that will be due soon. In the evening, I continued my training for the Swissotel Vertical Marathon with Mou Wei. We completed a total of 80 storeys, which is also equivalent to 1280 steps. More training awaits us next week so that we will be fully prepared for the competition.

08 November 2008, Saturday

Sailing training. The wind was really strong and it caused me to capsize once. I could not really control the boat well due to my light bodyweight. I tried hiking out as much as I could, but the wind was too strong and it overpowered my bodyweight. Training was enriching and fun even though I was not in total control of the boat. I will try harder next time.

In December, I will be going for my first major sailing competition. I just signed up for the 32nd Starhub Singapore Laser Open and I cannot wait to participate in it. However, I think I am far from competition standard, which means that I have to train much more to be fully prepared. Till then.

After training, Christopher managed to get a kind lady to give us a ride out to the bus stop a few kilometers down the road of the sailing centre. The trip saved us a lot of energy and definitely time. Thanks to whoever you are. Christopher, Jeremy, and I each got an ice cream before we took a bus out to the city. I alighted at City Hall train station to meet Mou Wei to collect to the Swissotel Vertical Marathon race kit, since today is the only day we can collect it. The race kit was filled with many amazing stuff that I shall keep to myself. We walked around City Hall and did some window shopping before having a very late lunch at about four plus near my house.

growth is the labour of a lifetime
