About yesterday evening. I went to Hannah’s house with no plans of what to do there because my parents were going there for the “Hope Singapore” training. Hannah’s got a really big and nice house, or you can say crib. We spent the whole evening watching the soccer match between Middlesbrough and Chelsea. Chelsea won 5 – 0, which was due to the fact that Middlesbrough played really badly. I loved the couch we were sitting on, with the really big cushions to hug. In fact, I made myself feel so at home. Sorry Hannah, I just love the couch and the television. After watching the match, we were treated to good food for supper. Great evening despite the bad day. Thanks Hannah for the invitation though, and letting me peek at your room.
I shall talk about the New Balance Real Run tomorrow since my body aches so much that I have problems writing a good post. The pain affects my brain somehow.
20 October 2008, Monday
Thank God that bowling training is postponed just when I needed it. Bowling training is postponed to Thursday, giving my body enough time to rest from the post muscle aches from the run yesterday. Anyway, congratulations to all the bowlers who took part in the POL-ITE bowling competition. You surely did the bowling team and the school proud.
About the New Balance Real Run. There were mixed feelings within me when I think about the run. I was happy that I broke my personal record time, yet I am not satisfied with my timing. Anyway, I think my pacing was not really good throughout the run. I will have to keep training and hope to do better in the run next year. I am losing face here but I am sad to say that 55 girls overtook me in the run. There is nothing to be sad about though, they are probably all from the cross country team of their schools while I am not. It shows that with training, anything can be possible.

I am skipping sailing training so that I can go home and do my project. I have muscle ache anyway, so I cannot attend training. It only took me a fraction of a second to think of such a good but unacceptable excuse, but who cares anyway. I am really in pain after all and that my project is the priority at the moment. For Thursday, I will be skipping training too as I have bowling training.

The water safety talk conducted by the school was nothing interesting, but I had to attend it since it was compulsory. Luckily, the talk lasted less than half an hour so I could continue with my gym training.
23 October 2008, Thursday
Lessons only totaled to three hours and I had a four hour break in between, which was a totally a waste of time. I prefer shorter breaks so that I can go home earlier instead of wasting my time in school. Blame it on the poor planning of the time table committee.
24 October 2008, Friday
Two hours of lecture was all I got for school this Friday. It is a make-up lesson since next week is Deepavali. I wish that was no public holiday for this once because bowling training will either be cancelled or postponed, which is not a good thing. I will be going for sailing over the weekend. Sailing training for tomorrow, and my first sailing competition on Sunday. Things are going to get exciting.
Anyway, going home with Annabel is really embarrassing. While on the train, she noticed that it had cameras planted all over (not knowing that they are for security reasons). She then started posing in front of the cameras like as if she was cam whoring. Later, this lady got up and she wanted the seat so she was like “I want to sit, I want to sit.” Everyone stared at us and I had to hide my face. I had a good chat with her though.
25 October 2008, Saturday
Running alone in the morning was not too bad after all. This is the first time I ran alone at East Coast Park. The morning breeze was cooling and refreshing, and I got to appreciate the creations of God in serenity. Too bad I only ran 1.5 km when my target was 3 km. Next week I will do 3 km, I promise.
Sailing. The wind was pretty good enough to throw me out of my boat as I was too light the laser class of boat (I am not revealing my weight). I really enjoyed myself even though I got hit on the head by the boom just once. It was really a painful and violent knock, but I still managed to sail thereafter. A series of unfortunate events happened again this week, but this time it was out at sea. Firstly, I crashed into Xin Ni and she started screaming at me because our boats got locked onto one another. Our unhelpful coach just watched us and laugh (he claimed he did not know how to help us). Luckily, with some luck, our boats unlocked and we were spared from capsizing.
Second incident. As the wind was pretty strong, somehow the clip to my traveler line broke and I had so much difficulty sailing the boat back to shore. I got a lot of blisters from that. After sailing, Jeremy drove us to Plaza Singapura to eat. We had a great time eating at Long John Silvers before we headed home, while the rest went to catch a movie.
not planning is as good as planning to fail
