October Day 12 Year 2008

05 October 2008, Sunday

If I have to wake up at five in the morning everyday, the eye bags are sure to come. Anyway, I woke up at five plus this morning to go and meet Mou Wei to go for the New Balance Trial Run which was held at Changi Exhibition Centre. Our initially plan to take the first train down to Pasir Ris was foiled because the first train only arrives after six thirty and we have to be at Pasir Ris train station by six forty-five latest. In the end, we hailed a cab and we got there within twenty minutes. We got onto the shuttle bus and the journey down to the starting point was longer than expected.

Being my first time at Changi Exhibition Centre, I was surprised that the place was very peaceful despite the amount of people present for the event. It was very big and spacious and I got to enjoy the cool morning breeze and also the serenity. Mou Wei and I also went to try out the New Balance All Terrain shoes that were available. Talking about all terrain shoes, the shoes gave us lots of trouble when running on the sand trail, thus, it did not impress us at all. After the run, we ate at Burger King before heading home. The run was great as the weather was cool and windy but I really dislike the sand trail.

Power napped in the afternoon before heading down for the McDonald’s survey held at their headquarters at King Albert Park. To my surprise, I met Daryl and he was going for the survey too. Daryl was really funny as he ate up almost all the four burgers to be tested and he still went to eat up my remaining biscuit (with permission of course). We left together and got to catch up with him as we have not met for months. On another note, I think the toilet at the McDonald’s headquarters is a classic and I am quite impressed by it. I am not going into the details of the toilet though, but you should go and check it out yourself.

“Practice makes perfect.” Apply this into bowling with a heart full of passion, victory is sure to come in no time. After a few years of training, my bowling has surely improve to a certain extend. Yesterday’s “bullet game” during training was an eminent sign. I survived by keeping my five lives for almost the entire duration of the game until the closing stages. In the end, I came in second losing to Kai Yuan, who had only half a life.

07 October 2008, Tuesday

What a carefree day. My manager did not come and thus, my workload is not as much for the day. Lunch was horrible. I had hand-made noodles which tastes so blend. The worst part was that the vegetables are bitter. Besides the horrible lunch, everything else went on fine and I am back to my normal exercise routine.

08 October 2008, Wednesday

Nothing at Singapore Post Centre’s food court taste good. Therefore, if you happen to go there, eat fast food instead as it is cheaper and it definitely tastes better.

09 October 2008, Thursday

Working and going back to school, and back to work again. The time spent travelling is as good as two full hours of my pay. Project meeting went on well and I was assigned to do some work for the group. I guess I must start doing my school work soon before the new semester begins.

10 October 2008, Friday

Last day of work felt as if it was just another normal day. After work, I stayed back and talk to some of my colleagues and even exchanged phone number with one of them. I had a great night at Sanctuary Green Condominium. I went there because my mum needed to attend the training for the “Hope Singapore” outreach event. Hannah was there too and we had a great talk about practically everything under the moon. There was also a reluctant someone that did not want to follow me to Kallang Leisure Park, leaving me to go there alone to get my dinner.

11 October 2008, Saturday

Finally, I completed eighty sets of different exercises in the gym. Going to the gym on Saturdays is good because you get all the equipment to yourself. After using the gym, I had lunch with Chor Boon and Mou Wei at the restaurant next to the gym. The food was great but the portion was too small. What a boring day.
