July Day 27 Year 2008

20 July 2008, Sunday

Twelve in the afternoon was the time I got out of bed. I cannot believe that I could sleep so much, and this is the latest time I woke up this year. I hope it will not happen again, as I missed half the day and got nothing out of it. Later in the afternoon, I went to church with cousin and Hui Yun, my other cousin. She joined us for the first time in church. I hope the word of God touched her and that she will continue to join me and Tse Yun in church.

21 July 2008, Monday

Bowling training was cancelled so I went to school for only two hours for my Fluid Mechanics 'B' lecture. I felt that the time travelling down to school is wasted as I take so long to get to school, only to spend two hours there. I really want bowling training to resume soon.

22 July 2008, Tuesday

I did line tracing for my assignment with my assignment group after school. It took us about an hour just to do the line tracing drawing for one level of the pilot plant and there are three levels in total. After doing it halfway, I left for sailing training. I got to know the school team captain and she told me that I was accepted into the school sailing team.

I have to attend training about three times a week since I am in the school team, which is going to be quite time consuming. I hope I can manage my time properly and have a good balance between my CCAs and my studies.

23 July 2008, Wednesday

I did not go to school as the rain was so heavy. My Plant Design lesson was only two hours, so I decided to give it a miss as I had no problem with it currently. I tried going to school with an umbrella, but I got my shoes and clothes all soaking wet even before I reached the main entrance of my house. I really hate the rain when I need to go out.

Alexandra used to tell me that the rain is wet. I am sure everyone knows that. Is that right?

24 July 2008, Thursday

For the first time, I experienced a total blackout in the lecture when the power tripped during Thermodynamics lecture. The backup lights came on for less than a minute and it also tripped after awhile, leaving the whole lecture theatre in total darkness. Mr Ting went to open the door to let some light in and gave us a ten minute break while the technicians solved the problem.

After lessons, I had sailing training which lasted till eight plus. I was really tired after training and I think my fitness level is still not good enough yet.

25 July 2008, Friday

Mass Transfer 'A'’s last lecture was held as Dr Ng was leaving the school for another career. I wish him all the best for his future. He had been a great and really helpful lecturer, helping me pass my Chemical Reaction Engineering when it is a "killer" module in my course. After the lecture, my class stayed back to take photos with him as this would be our last time seeing him.

After school, I went to bowl with Stanley and Xu Liang before going to meet my Poly Fifty Campus Relay team to give them a short briefing. I was made the captain again this year and it is a great responsibility that my team members are well taken care of, and that they are well prepared for the competition which is only two weeks away. We had a trial run as I wanted my team members to be familiar with the running route. After that, I went back to SPGG to bowl with Kai Yuan to prepare for the SP Doubles which is on next Sunday.

26 July 2008, Saturday

Daddy and mummy arrived in Singapore this morning around seven plus. I drove all the way to the airport to fetch them home. My parents said they had a good trip, but they were rather tired due to the twelve hours flight from Turkey. Later in the morning, I drove down to SPGG to collect my bowling ball and my bowling shoes as I wanted to go bowling in the afternoon. The journey there was really long as I came from Parkway Parade which is more than half the island apart from SPGG.

Guess what? In the afternoon I did not go bowling, making the trip kind of a wasted one. Lucky I am not the one paying for the petrol. Instead, I did some grocery shopping with my father before going for cell group in the evening. I borrowed the car again as cell group was held at Mellissa’s house instead of church. I had a great time at cell group. After that, I gave Daryl, Jeremy, and Lin a lift to my house as they wanted to have dinner around my place.

true love is love that is built to last forever
