This was the second day at UMAD 6. Alexandra, Amanda, and I ran the games in the afternoon. Our station was called “The Race”, though it did not look like a race to me. We got ourselves all wet because we had to try out the games on our own before letting the others play it. I was allergic to mud but still went ahead trying it out. In the end, I got rashes on my body. Anyway, I am on my road to recovery so praise God for blessing me.
09 June 2008, Monday
It was the special night at UMAD 6, so our parents were invited to see the skits that we have put up for them. The special night started with two debate sessions which was quite humourous. The first motion was about the squatting positions on the toilet bowl and the second one about pop music influence and whether it is good or not for youths. Andrea and Tai Yu were the hosts for the night, and they came up speaking in a Japanese accent which was really funny.
The skits put up this year were not really good compared to other years, but my group emerged as the champion. I think my group worked really hard and our efforts paid off. Although many of us had conflicts throughout the practice sessions, I thank God for his grace and guiding our group to success. I acted as the sushi master and I love eating sushi, so I think the role really suits me. Talking about the best actor for the night I think it goes to Kia Wei, acting as the "pretty" air stewardess for that night.
10 June 2008, Tuesday
Being the last day of UMAD 6, some of us went up to the stage to share with the rest what we had learnt from the camp and also our thanksgiving. I went up with Gary as I was afraid to be up on stage alone. After that, this being Chai Hwa’s last UMAD camp with the youths, we all gathered around him to pray for him as he will be going to Japan to continue doing God’s work.
11 June 2008, Wednesday
I stayed at home and did not achieve anything. I cannot believe I am still in a state of procrastination when I have six tests two weeks from now and a lot of assignment yet to be done.
12 June 2008, Thursday
I went to school in the morning for project meeting till around three plus. After that, I went to city hall with Mou Wei to visit one of the bowling shops but it was closed. In the end, we just walked around city hall and I got a few things in mind I want to buy. However, I think I will just put all those things on hold first because I may decide to change my mind.
13 June 2008, Friday
I got up at seven in the morning to go for breakfast with my father. We ate the famous bak chor mee just around the corner of my house. After breakfast, I drove down to National Sailing Centre to help out in the sailing regatta held by Sentosa. It was an international race and there were a total of 400 over boats participating. I was quite busy initially. I mean quite busy supervising. I helped out till evening before heading home.
14 June 2008, Saturday
Followed my sister down to Anthony’s and Valerie’s Wedding at Telok Ayer Chinese Methodist Church. We reached there around nine plus and I went for breakfast with Adriel, Bing Xiang, and Judith at the hawker centre opposite the church. After breakfast, we went back to the church and I took a few photos with some people before proceeding to the auditorium to wait for the ceremony to begin. The wedding ceremony took about an hour plus before everyone went down for a lunch reception. I took a few more photos before leaving the church for a barbeque in the evening.
