June Day 29 Year 2008

22 June 2008, Sunday

I went to church in the morning and went home to study for my upcoming tests after service. There are so many things to study in such little time that I have, but I will make the best out of it in order to do well for the tests ahead of me.

23 June 2008, Monday

I stayed at home and study all day long. Unfortunately, I wasted the morning fiddling with my mp3 and sorting out the new songs my friends sent to me.

24 June 2008, Tuesday

I was a little more discipline compared to yesterday as I managed to cover more topics. I finally managed to finish studying for my Bioanalytics test and Boating Theory test.

25 June 2008, Wednesday

I had my first test being Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. The paper was rather difficult although I studied everything. There was simply too much theory to memorise and I can say I tried my best and I am really hoping I can scrape through this test.

26 June 2008, Thursday

I had two tests. The first one was Bioanalytics, which I find quite easy for the multiple choice section. The second test was Mass Transfer In Unit Opeations 'A' and I think I did not do very well for that.

27 June 2008, Friday

Being the last day of all my tests, I had three papers. The first one was Fluid Mechanics 'B' which was very tricky, but I managed to attempt all the questions except one. Thermodynamics was my second paper of the day and I got no clue how to do it. My whole class found it very difficult so I think it is not only me that is having trouble with it. I like my last paper best, as I got an 'A' for Boating Theory. The test is to be done on the computer and the results are immediately generated, therefore I was satisfied with my results for that paper. One paper cleared and I have to thank God for that. Five more to go.

28 June 2008, Saturday

Went to run with Daryl in the morning as what we would normally do every week. After that, I went to church for worship practice which lasted till around four plus. I went home for dinner and sort out my songs and put them into my mp3 as they were in a big mess. I was supposed to go to Natalie’s concert, but I decided to give it a miss as I did not feel like going somehow.

but you made it through nevertheless

June Day 22 Year 2008

15 June 2008, Sunday

After church service, I met up with Tse Yun at City Hall to go to New Creation Church. City Hall was very crowded so I took some time getting through the crowd to meet her. I also met Neng Giin on the way there. We met outside Donut Factory and went up to the church for service only to find out that the main auditorium was full and we had to go to the overflow room to get seats. When we checked the time, we realised we were three minutes early but still ... Tse Yun and I then agreed we must go earlier next time. Anyway the service was good and I was enriched by God’s word through Pastor Prince. He talked about using anointing oil and God’s blessings when we pray and use it.

16 June 2008, Monday

I stayed at home to sort out some of my music files and realised that I have over 2000 songs. I deleted the not so nice ones because I think all my songs are very nice. What a boring day.

17 June 2008, Tuesday

Finally started studying. I went to the food court at Changi Airport to study with Alexandra, the original pink barbie, and Lindsay, the green barbie, from Bedok Green. I was surprised that we were rather discipline though we kept distracting each other at times. The place was really quiet and conducive. After studying, we took the sky train to terminal three to walk around before heading home.

18 June 2008, Wednesday

Stayed at home all day to study my Boating Theory paper coming up next week. After that did my exercise routine which was very tiring. I think with much pain there will be something gained in the future.

19 June 2008, Thursday

Stayed at home to study in the morning. After lunch, i went to church to study with some church friends.

20 June 2008, Friday

Stayed at home to study in the morning before going to church to study. Church was rather noisy because some people cannot stop talking when they should not be talking.

21 June 2008, Saturday

Went to help out in the SP Biathlon in my school. I had to wake up at five plus just to go down on time for the briefing and all my friends living nearer to school than me were late. The event went on very smoothly and it ended around lunch time. Although it was not as interesting as I thought it would be, I gained some valuable experience as this is my first time helping out in a biathlon. After lunch, I went down to Vivo City to meet my mother and siblings for lunch. Bought a new t-shirt then headed home to rest as we were all drained. However, they were drained from shopping while I was drained from the heat of the sun. I guess I was the one really more drained than them.

June Day 16 Year 2008

Too Good To Be True

Sitting next to her, he called out her name …

Boy: It hass been a long time since we last met.
Girl: Yup, I have this feeling you would be here.
Boy: Yeah, I am here just when you needed me.
Girl: Well, you came just in time to catch the sunset with me.
Boy: Yes. I miss this feeling you know. Just you and me.

Boy and girl look at each other …

Girl: When was the last time we came here?
Boy: About a year ago. We came as strangers, remember?
Girl: Oh yeah, I remember now. I was very depressed then.
Boy: We shouldn’t be talking about this you know?
Girl: I know. Well so who is that lucky girl with you now?
Boy: I am still waiting for her answer.
Girl: You mean you have not asked her?
Boy: Well yeah, I am the shy type you know.

Girl gives the boy her sweetest smile …

Girl: Okay, I think you should tell her how you feel.
Boy: Maybe later, but I am really scared I get rejected.
Girl: Well, you will never know you could win her heart.
Boy: Yeah, but this is my first time. I am not good at this.
Girl: No, I forbid you to think that way. I think you are good.
Boy: Really? But why?
Girl: Yes of course. Why would I lie to you? You are nice.

Boy hesitates and look straight into the girl’s eyes …

Boy: I want to tell you something.
Girl: Sure, I am right here listening.
Boy: I am in love with you, you know?
Girl: Really? Well why didn’t you say so?

Boy and girl about to kiss …

Boy: We are in public mind you?
Girl: No. We are in love my dear.
Boy: So would you be my girlfriend?
Girl: Well you got to start chasing me first.
Boy: Okay, but how you want me to do it?
Girl: Tag you are it. Catch me if you can.

if it is true let it be like magic not tragic

June Day 15 Year 2008

08 June 2008, Sunday

This was the second day at UMAD 6. Alexandra, Amanda, and I ran the games in the afternoon. Our station was called “The Race”, though it did not look like a race to me. We got ourselves all wet because we had to try out the games on our own before letting the others play it. I was allergic to mud but still went ahead trying it out. In the end, I got rashes on my body. Anyway, I am on my road to recovery so praise God for blessing me.

09 June 2008, Monday

It was the special night at UMAD 6, so our parents were invited to see the skits that we have put up for them. The special night started with two debate sessions which was quite humourous. The first motion was about the squatting positions on the toilet bowl and the second one about pop music influence and whether it is good or not for youths. Andrea and Tai Yu were the hosts for the night, and they came up speaking in a Japanese accent which was really funny.

The skits put up this year were not really good compared to other years, but my group emerged as the champion. I think my group worked really hard and our efforts paid off. Although many of us had conflicts throughout the practice sessions, I thank God for his grace and guiding our group to success. I acted as the sushi master and I love eating sushi, so I think the role really suits me. Talking about the best actor for the night I think it goes to Kia Wei, acting as the "pretty" air stewardess for that night.

10 June 2008, Tuesday

Being the last day of UMAD 6, some of us went up to the stage to share with the rest what we had learnt from the camp and also our thanksgiving. I went up with Gary as I was afraid to be up on stage alone. After that, this being Chai Hwa’s last UMAD camp with the youths, we all gathered around him to pray for him as he will be going to Japan to continue doing God’s work.

11 June 2008, Wednesday

I stayed at home and did not achieve anything. I cannot believe I am still in a state of procrastination when I have six tests two weeks from now and a lot of assignment yet to be done.

12 June 2008, Thursday

I went to school in the morning for project meeting till around three plus. After that, I went to city hall with Mou Wei to visit one of the bowling shops but it was closed. In the end, we just walked around city hall and I got a few things in mind I want to buy. However, I think I will just put all those things on hold first because I may decide to change my mind.

13 June 2008, Friday

I got up at seven in the morning to go for breakfast with my father. We ate the famous bak chor mee just around the corner of my house. After breakfast, I drove down to National Sailing Centre to help out in the sailing regatta held by Sentosa. It was an international race and there were a total of 400 over boats participating. I was quite busy initially. I mean quite busy supervising. I helped out till evening before heading home.

14 June 2008, Saturday

Followed my sister down to Anthony’s and Valerie’s Wedding at Telok Ayer Chinese Methodist Church. We reached there around nine plus and I went for breakfast with Adriel, Bing Xiang, and Judith at the hawker centre opposite the church. After breakfast, we went back to the church and I took a few photos with some people before proceeding to the auditorium to wait for the ceremony to begin. The wedding ceremony took about an hour plus before everyone went down for a lunch reception. I took a few more photos before leaving the church for a barbeque in the evening.

drenched in the rain hoping it will wash away the pain
