May Day 28 Year 2007

It has been about two weeks since I last posted an entry in my blog. Anyway, last week was E-learning week, but it was not as enjoyable and fruitful as I wanted it to be. Firstly, I fell sick and had rashes all over my body. I had to see the doctor twice only to get slightly better. The feeling was really bad because I was itching all over. Anyway, I am on my road to recovery which is a good sign. Do continue to pray for me people. Thanks a million.

During the E-learning week, besides doing my E-learning, I went to the campus crusade graduation at Faith Methodist Church. The place was fully packed on that day and my friends and I were lucky enough to reach there early to get the front seats. The event went on smoothly and there were many inspiring testimonies shared by the graduates. After the event, my friends and I stayed back to take pictures before proceeding to the roof top of the church for supper. When everything was over, the people living in the east took the train home and we played two games of bridge before I alighted.

That night, I really had an enjoyable night although I was in pain from the rashes, and it seems that my bridge partner and I have still kept our unbeaten record. Aaron and Joseph were close to beating us in the first game that night, but they could not win their last set, so the game was ours. I just hope that I will have more chances to play bridge with my friends in future.

My progress for the E-learning week is rather slow because I had to go back to school for two out of the five days leaving me with only three days to attempt seven modules. Luckily, the due date for two of my modules that I have not completed is in the following week, so I still have the time to attempt the assignments given to me.

Next week marks the eighth week of the polytechnic academic year. Time really flies and almost one term is over. I hope I can continue to work hard this semester and get some good grades. Notice I never talk about bowling or windsurfing? That is because I did not go windsurfing last week and I did badly at the bowling competition that day. It is time to improve and move on.

May Day 13 Year 2007

It will be one more week before the E-learning week for me. I love the E-learning week because I do not have to go to school. All my work will be done through the internet which will be much easier for me. However, I have to go back to school on the E-learning week’s Friday because I have a practical lesson. Luckily, I only have to go back to school for one day so it is not much of a problem for me.

Last week was also the first campus crusade meeting at the lecture theatre. It was not bad and quite a large number of freshmen came. I just hope that there will be more freshmen joining us soon. After the campus crusade meeting, most of the people living in the east when home together including me. There was only about five of us in the end, because the rest of the people wanted to stay on in school to eat dinner.

The ride home seemed short, because my friends and I talked a lot making the journey seem short although the train ride was about half an hour. I also got to know the freshmen much better during the journey home. During the week, I also met up with the freshmen to go to school together, as we all preferred having each other’s company.

Next week, I will be starting to go back to the sea again to give sailing training. I hope the weather will be good and that it will not be too hot so that I will not get sun burns. I have not been to the sea for about a month and I do not know if I am able to train the trainees well.

For today, it was mother’s day and my sister and I brought the family for lunch at Kentucky Fried Chicken at Suntec City. I think my mother was really glad having us to treat the family to lunch. After that, we went shopping as a family before going home to watch a movie. In the evening, I went jogging with my sister to prepare for the upcoming poly fifty competition.

May Day 06 Year 2007

School has totally tired me out and I think I need to catch up on the workload in school in order to succeed this semester. So far, for my practical lessons, I can say that I scored pretty well for all the three practical lessons I had. One of which, I got full marks together with my group. It was quite a surprise because we have never gotten full marks for our practical lessons before except this one. I hope I can carry on like this in the practical lessons, so that it will help boost my grades.

For bowling, I have been attending it regularly and it is a good achievement. Only that this year, I bowled a game below one hundred points just once this week. I got ninety nine points because I made a lot of mistakes that could have been avoided. Anyway, I hope I can perform better at tomorrow’s training and not make a blunder. The freshmen this year also came in big numbers and the bowling alley is always full when we have trainings this year compared to last year.

Polytechnic life may not be very exciting for me, but I am sure that I will make the best out of it and move on. My course may be very taxing and difficult to excel in, but I believe with hard work and God’s guidance, I can do well.

This year is certainly not a good year for me. Months have passed and I am not up to the standard that I am supposed to be. Hopefully, I can start afresh this month and make it a great one. I must also admit that my walk with God is not very smooth as I often forget to pray daily because I fall asleep halfway in my prayer. I hope to be able to be more discipline in my walk with God and focus on Him more.
