I am proud to say that I have been a scout since primary three till now. That is like about nine years and still counting. I was introduced to scouting by my father who is also a scout. Some of the reasons I join scouting are that I am able to make new friends, attend campfires, travel overseas and learn a lot of new things that I cannot learn elsewhere. I have been to countries like Malaysia for an exchange programme, and Thailand for the World Scout Jamboree in 2001. The friends I got to know through scouting are also my close friends now and we have gone for many courses together like windsurfing which is also one of my favourite sports. Through scouting, I have learn skills like basic first aid, outdoor cooking, how to tie knots and many more. I have also gotten quite used to live outdoors because I have attended many scout camps which requires me to pitch tents and sleep in it for a few days.
