Wrong words do offend people, but sometimes even casual remarks may cause sensitive people to feel offended. "Keep the change", and that is what I said to get a harsh scolding from one of my teachers. Maybe she is a little too sensitive, but I agree to a certain extent that I am not perfectly right. It seems to be only a small matter, but that somehow taught me a good lesson on how to be careful with the words I use, and think carefully before speaking. My first thoughts after that incident really freaked me out, as I made the teacher really mad. I would consider myself lucky for not being reported to the principal, as I would not even dare to face the consequences. Frankly, that incident made me felt a little guilty as she told me that I treated her like a beggar in front of the whole class. However, the fact is that she thought of herself being a beggar and no one even implied that, not even me. I did exactly the same thing on another teacher just to see how she reacts to the situation. Prior to the previous case, I was surprised by her reaction as she did not even said anything but broke into fits of laughter. Sometimes, I feel that in this world nobody can make you happy or sad, but it is how you think and react towards the situation that really matters and make you the type of person you want to be.

Working seems fun to many students. However, working adults tell us that it is not as fun and they would prefer studying than working. We always thought that money comes by easily, but when we go out and work, we will then understand that money is actually very difficult to earn. Our parents always tell us to study hard so that we can get a good job in the future. However, we always do not heed their advise as we think that we can earn money easily in the future. Some of people come from not so wealthy families and the children would often take up part time jobs after school hours or during the holidays to help boost the family's income. They are the people that truly understand the pain their parents go through just to support the family and put food on the table. We must therefore know that money is not easy to earn and come by. We can try working during the holidays after studying in secondary school and find that it is a totally different feeling, and that we would want to continue studying than going into the work force.
